Players to watch
TJ Tillman, 6-0, 170-pound, WR-DB, Sr.
The Texas Panhandle’s most prolific Division I prospect with close to 10 offers is ready to help the Rebels rebound from a sub-par season in 2024. Tillman is dynamic with the ball in his hands on offense or special teams and is a menace in the secondary. Last season, in a very run-heavy offense, Tillman totaled 313 receiving yards with four touchdowns and hawked three interceptions on the defensive side.
Coltyn Fulton, 6-1, 210-pound, QB, Jr.
Fulton showed his shining ability at times and struggled at times learning the Rebels offense as a sophomore. Being a junior with a year under his belt, head coach Ken Plunk hopes to see major growth from Fulton who has the potential to be a team leader. Fulton threw for 856 yards with 13 touchdowns while rushing for 619 yards with nine more TDs in 2023.
Krush Johnson, 6-4, 265-pound, DL, Jr.
What a fitting name for a defensive lineman that loves to “Krush” the competition. Johnson is drawing major comparisons as the next great defensive lineman in a longline of Rebels that include L.B. Moore and Avion Carter. As a sophomore, Johnson showed just the beginning of what he could do making 30 tackles with three sacks in only eight varsity games.
