It was a new year but the same old results Friday afternoon at the District 3-5A swim meet at the Amarillo Town Club, which was great news for Amarillo High.

For the second straight year, Amarillo High dominated the meet featuring all four Amarillo ISD high schools, sweeping the boys and girls points titles by decisive margins. The AHS boys won the team title with 236 points and the girls were almost as dominant with 217.5 points, as Tascosa was a distant second in both cases.

Amarillo High had five multiple winners, with three coming from the boys and two from the girls.

Two seniors were multiple winners for Amarillo High. Lance Dykhouse won the 100-yard freestyle in 51.39 seconds and took the 100 backstroke in 57.18 after teammate and favorite Alex Purdy was disqualified.
