Tascosa falls at Lubbock Monterey
The Tascosa Rebels weren’t able to make up any ground in the district race falling on the road to Lubbock Monterey 69-62 on Tuesday night at the Monterey Gym in Lubbock.
The Rebels drop to 7-3 in District 2-5A and 17-8 overall. The Plainsman are now 8-3 in distirct with the win and 14-15 overall.
Sam Arrington and Elijah Smothers had huge nights for Monterey combining for 51 points. Arrington finished with a game-high 26 followed by Arrington’s 25.
Jaemon Palacios led Tascosa with 24 points.
Tuesday’s top performersÂ
Willy Atak of Holy Cross Catholic Academy put together a monster performance during a 79-56 win against Ascension Academy. Atak torched the Cardinals for a game-high 36 points throwing down eight dunks adding 10 rebounds for a double-double and added seven steals with five assists.
Braddek Darnell and Hunter Corman combined for 54 points in Wildorado’s 81-41 win at Boys Ranch. Darnell posted a game-high 29 points followed by Corman’s 25.
Spearman’s Hector Diaz had a hot shooting night tallying 28 points to lead the Lynx past Vega 41-26.
Bushland won its third straight game beating Tulia 63-46. Tripp Purcell and Jenner King led the charge combining for 47 points. Purcell went for a game-best 25 with King adding 22. Congratulations to head coach Connor Copley who earned his 100th career victory with the win.
Amarillo High standout Zach Brown registered a game-high 22 points as the Sandies cruised by Lubbock High 65-32.
Victor Juarez put together another solid night pouring in 20 points as the Palo Duro Dons cruised to a 67-49 home win over Plainview.
Kooper Hernandez of West Texas High scored a team-high 18 points as the Comanches decimated Sanford-Fritch 65-30.
Texline’s Rett Wann knocked down five 3-pointers finishing the night with 21 points during the Tornadoes blowout win over Adrian 98-16.
Nazareth’s Kayle Rogers was solid once again leading the team with 26 points in a Swifts 72-41 win against Hart.
Corbin Taylor helped keep Valley unbeaten in district play posting a game-high 28 points in a lopsided 93-46 victory at Paducah.
