Randall defends home court against West PlainsÂ
The Randall Raiders did what they wanted to opening up the 2025 portion of the schedule by defending home court and beating West Plains 71-60 in a key District 4-4A game on Friday night.
The Raiders had to battle back from a rough start. The Wolves opened up a nine-point advantage going up 35-26 at halftime.
In the second half, Randall cut that deficit to 48-47 by the end of three, and then closed out the game outscoring West Plains 23-13 in the final frame to nab the victory.
Jaxon Toniolli helped lead the charge for Randall dropping in a team-high 17 points. Taysen Combs went for 14 while Tim Perez chipped in 13 points.
Reid Macon led the Wolves with 18 followed by Kaden Hooker’s 17.
Randall remains unbeaten in District 4-4A at 3-0 and moves to 17-5 overall. West Plains drops to 11-10 overall and 2-1 in district action.
Panhandle pummels WellingtonÂ
Following a loss to Quanah on Tuesday, the Panhandle Panthers were able to regroup and get a 64-40 lopsided home win against Wellington on Friday night.
The win pushes Panhandle to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in District 2-2A. Wellington is now 8-10 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Panhandle had a plethora of scoring with three players finishing in double-digits. Caden Armes posted a game-high 21 points for the Panthers. Teammate Dylan Pohlmeier went for 18 and Caiden Crook chipped in 11 points.
The Skyrockets were led by Armando Hinojosa’s 14 points.
Friday’s top performersÂ
- Palo Duro sharpshooter Victor Juarez put on a show as the Dons rolled up Lubbock Monterey 79-62 on Friday. Juarez posted a game-high 43 points finishing with eight 3-pointers.
- Spearman’s Ysreal Sanchez had the hot-hand knocking down seven 3-pointers to finish with 23 points as the Lynx beat West Texas High 51-43 in a key District 1-2A matchup.
- Nazareth’s Kayle Rogers hit a floater from the free-throw line with only two seconds remaining that gave the Swifts a thrilling 39-38 win over rival Happy during a District 3-1A showdown Friday night in Nazareth. Rogers finished with 10 points overall.
- Reggie Provencio of Pringle-Morse dropped in a game-high 33 points that helped erase a 13-point deficit to defeat Boys Ranch 50-49.
- Chris Jiminez scored eight points and helped with a strong defensive effort as Dumas stunned Canyon 41-28.
- Gruver’s Briggs Satterfield helped the Greyhounds stay unbeaten by scoring 24 points in a 74-38 win over Stratford.
- Clarendon’s Michael Randall was clutch with a 20-point performance helping the Broncos down Highland Park 45-34.
- Collin Alston posted 25 points during McLean’s 73-28 win against Hedley.
- Wildorado rolled to an 86-34 win over Hartley behind Braddek Darnell’s 29 points.
