West Plains rolls RandallÂ
West Plains didn’t show any rust from the Christmas break, restarting District 4-4A with a 63-45 statement win against rival Randall at the Leslie Broadhurst Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Lady Wolves got out to a fast start jumping up 12-5 then 28-17 at the break. In the second half, it was more of the same extending that advantage to 48-29 by the end of three.
Leading the way was the tremendous backcourt duo of Piper Patterson and Dane’ja Agu-White who each scored 17 points combining for 34 on the night.
Sadie Sanchez led Randall with 18 points.
West Plains is now 16-7 overall but more importantly 5-0 in District 4-4A. The Lady Raiders slip to 14-9 overall and 3-2 in the league.
Panhandle stays hot downing WellingtonÂ
Panhandle continued a hot start to the season by ringing in 2025 getting a lopsided 63-35 win at home against Wellington.
The Ettes are now 20-3 overall and a perfect 4-0 in District 2-2A. The Lady Skyrockets fall to 2-2 in district play and 16-7 overall.
Panhandle opened the game up in the second quarter. Holding a slim 14-11 advantage afte the opening stanza, the Ettes caught fire going on a 21-4 second quarter run to take a 35-15 lead into halftime and never looked back.
Sharpshooter Avery Cathey had a big night pouring in a game-high 25 points. Teammate Addison McCoid followed with 15. Wellington’s Leslie Orozco finished with a team-high 15.
Friday’s top performersÂ
- Amarillo High stayed perfect in District 3-5A beating Lubbock-Cooper 64-39. Tyler Held and Bella Edwards led the way with 15 points apiece.
- Clarendon’s Kashlyn Conkin dropped in a game-high 25 points to lead the Lady Broncos past Highland Park 97-16.
- Morgan Earle of Spearman continued her superb season posting a game-high 23 points during the Lynxettes 57-29 victory against West Texas High.
- Berlin Bartlett and Emmy Boutsamaly combined for 39 points which helped Pampa beat Perryton 66-50. Bartlett scored a game-high 20 followed by Boutsmaly’s 19.
- Valley opened District 8-1A with a 77-4 win over Paducah. Savannah Carrera did most of the damage for the Lady Patriots with 22 points.
- Canadian is off to a 24-0 start to the season and kept that unbeaten streak going with a 59-23 win against Childress. Cazlee Waite scored 18 points with Elyse Beck adding 17.
- Makylee Baldwin poured in a game-high 24 points that lifted Farwell past Hale Center 73-29.
- Behind Taylor Ritter’s 23 points, Groom was able to fend off Lefors 45-42.
