“We wanted to do something here locally,” Flat Bill co-owner Anthony Bethel said. “There were teams from out of state that wanted to play in this, but we decided to keep it to our local teams. We wanted to get the local guys back on the field, epsecially the graduated seniors. We wanted to get them a chance to play.”

The tournament, that consist’s of some of the top Texas Panhandle talent from across the area, will see round robin action Thursday to Saturday for both the 16-under and 18-under teams. Bracket play begins Saturday evening and Sunday morning, followed by two championship games Sunday afternoon.

Bethel said safety is the key with COVID-19 still being an important issue, but he does expect to have fans in the stands.

“We’ll have hand washing stations,” Bethel said, “But we want fans to come out and watch these guys having fun. That’s what this tournament is about. We’re just going to ask that they stay spread out, and maintain social distancing.”
