Addyson Bristow, Canyon cross country, Jr.
On the course: Behind Bristow and her incredible Canyon cross country team, the Lady Eagles were able to bring home a UIL Class 4A state championship for the first time since 2020 and the unprecedented 12th in school history.
Bristow, the District 4-4A and Region I-4A champion, led the charge running a masterful race on the way to winning her second straight individual state championship while putting her name in the record books setting the new Class 4A course record with a time of 10:43.3.
Coach Ray Baca: ““I’m super proud of Addyson. I’m more proud of the person she is. She is probably the most talented athlete I’ve ever coached but what I love the most is how she was more excited on winning the team title than her own individual championship. That’s the type of program we’ve built here, and all of those girls want the best for one another. I’m just so grateful we all came together at the right time because Randall was really good.”
Bristow: “Winning this team title means so much to me. Winning the individual title again was awesome but not even close to winning as a team. We workout together every single day and we see ourselves getting better. I feel proud to be a Lady Eagle and proud of what we accomplished.”
