On the court: Three serious knee injuries and a surgery over the summer wasn’t going to stop Lankford from being there for her senior year and being a part of the Lady Hounds basketball program.

Not only is Lankford playing, she’s a huge factor in why Gruver has clinched a spot back in the postseason. Lankford also showed just how versatile of a player she could be last week during wins against Sunray and Spearman. Against the Lady Bobcats, the daughter of Lady Hounds head coach, Trent, scored 18 points and added 11 boards for a double-double. She then earned another double-double against the Lynxettes with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

On the season, the remarkable senior is averaging 11.5 points a game with six rebounds a night.

Coach Trent Lankford: “We have had great players come through this program and I think Hannon is following in her own way. She’s like having another coach on the floor, she puts the team in the right spots and she’s a great leader. We have a great relationship, she has great friendships with her teammates, and she does a great job of shouldering responsibility. I’m so proud of her and all she’s had to go through to get here”

Lankford: “I think this team is coming together and executing a game-plan like we want to. We’re a young team but we’re stepping up right now and headed in the right direction. I haven’t been shooting as well as I’d like to be, so I’ve been finding other ways to make an impact. Whether that’s defense or rebounding, I’ll do whatever is best to help this team in any way I can.”
