Dumas (4-1) at Caprock (1-1), 7 p.m. Dumas had the week off pissed over a rare loss;

Caprock riding Big Mo from Randall win showing its sauce.

A lot of orange will be on this field,

Palo Duro (0-2) at Pampa (6-0), 7 p.m. This is a COVID game scheduled late last week;

Defending Pampa’s prolific offense is not for the meek.

Last week Palo Duro had Plainview on the ropes;

Friday games

Odessa Permian (2-0) vs. Tascosa (1-1), 7 p.m. at Buffalo Stadium. Friday Nights Lights itself arrives at home of the Buffs;

Tascosa’s nondistrict schedule continues with no cream puffs.

The Rebs are hungry after the loss to Lee;

Randall (1-1) at Amarillo High (1-1), 7 p.m.

Borger (0-6, 0-0) at Levelland (1-5, 0-0), 7 p.m. This is a District 2-4A DII opener in Lobo Land;

One win between the two isn’t so grand.

Levelland has played the tougher schedule to date;

Canadian (4-1, 1-0) at Highland Park (1-5, 1-1), 7 p.m. The No. 1-ranked Wildcats haven’t lost a district game since 2012, and I don’t see it happening Friday. Make it 39 straight district victories for Canadian. … Canadian 48, Highland Park 14.

Childress (5-1, 1-1) at Dimmitt (0-6, 0-2), 7 p.m. If Childress clicks like it did last week this could be short night in Dimmitt. … Childress 45, Dimmitt 12

Tulia (4-2, 1-1) at Friona (4-1, 1-0), 7 p.m. This is the key game In District 3-3A Division II on Friday. The winner is on the fast track toward a playoff spot while the loser will have work to do. … Friona 35, Tulia 21

Class 2A

Boys Ranch (0-4, 0-0) at Farwell (4-1, 0-0), 7 p.m. There’s not much buzz around the Steers but there should be. This is a dangerous team heading into District 1-2A Division I play. … Farwell 40, Boys Ranch 12

Sanford-Fritch (0-5, 0-0) at West Texas High (2-3, 0-0), 7 p.m. The Cruz brothers have the ability to put on a show anytime they step on the turf for the Comanches. Can Fritch keep up? … WT High 42, Sanford-Fritch 18

Sudan (3-3, 0-0) at Bovina (1-4, 0-0), 7 p.m. Don’t let the Mustangs record fool you. Injuries and a tough nondistrict schedule hampered Bovina. Leader and QB Cole Emery is back ready to make noise. … Bovina 27, Sudan 26.

Vega (4-2, 0-0) at Gruver (1-5, 0-0), 7 p.m. The Longhorns are feeling confident heading into district after a huge win at Clarendon. It’s not the Greyhounds best year, but don’t expect a let down from the Horns. … Vega 36, Gruver 14

Clarendon (5-1, 0-0) at Memphis (3-3, 0-0), 7 p.m. Despite a loss last week to Vega the Broncos are still a team to keep a serious eye on in District 4-2A District II. … Clarenon 35, Memphis 14.

Shamrock (4-2, 0-0) at Wellington (5-0, 0-0), 7 p.m. Wellington opens its district schedule playing great football against struggling Shamrock. … Wellington 45, Shamrock 16.

Ballinger (4-1) vs. Sunray (4-2), 7 p.m. at Lubbock Cooper. This game was added earlier in the week after the Bobcats were suppose to open district with Booker. The Kiowas had to cancel with COVID-19 concerns but luckily Ballinger was able to step up. … Ballinger 27, Sunray 18.

Follett (6-0, 0-0) at Lefors (0-5, 0-0), 7 p.m. ​The Panthers are in it for blood this year. They’ve been to the top and to the bottom in recent years and are ready to be back in the mix for a state championship. It starts Friday night in Lefors. … Follett 72, Lefors 44
