H.S. Volleyball Tuesday recap: Tascosa, AHS, Randall, Bushland win

Amarillo High, Tascosa and Randall all closed out its brief nondistrict schedule with victories during a busy Tuesday night of volleyball.

Randall escaped Lubbock Cooper in a five-set thriller, Amarillo knocked off Lubbock Coronado in four sets and Tascosa swept Lubbock Monterey.

A very competitive District 3-5A starts Saturday. Randall visits Tascosa, while the Lady Sandies open at home with Palo Duro.

Bushland continues to roll after a sweep of Tulia on Tuesday. Hallie Conklin and Kinley Rudder each had 14 kills. Sophomore Logan Culpepper, who celebrated a birthday Tuesday, dished out 12 assists with four blocksZ

District 4-4A notes

Hereford remained in sole possession of first place of District 4-4A taking down Pampa 24-26, 25-8, 25-6, 25-15.

The Lady Whitefaces are 13-1 overall and 3-0 in district. Rainey Aven made 42 assists in the victory, and middle blocker Taytum Stow added 17 kills with six blocks.

Canyon and Dumas stayed a game back of Hereford with wins Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles (9-4, 2-1) swept Borger 25-12, 25-16, 25-17. Senior Zoey Sparks had 13 kills with six blocks.

Dumas downed Perryton by a 25-14, 25-10, 25-8 count. The Demonettes (12-6, 2-1) were led by Brenley Rodriguez’s 11 kills and five blocks.

District 4-4A
