West Plains girls pummel Pampa in district openerÂ
The West Plains Lady Wolves didn’t waste any time establishing themselves as top contenders of District 4-4A. West Plains piled on the goals and often during a 13-0 rout of the Pampa Lady Harvesters on Monday night at Happy State Bank Stadium in Canyon.
The Lady Wolves are off to a 1-0 start to district play and are an impressive 11-1 overall to start the year. Pampa falls 2-6-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.
West Plains had 10 different players tally goals during Monday’s win. Senior Sydney Lanigan led the team with a hat-trick and added two assists. Teammate Melanie Lujan chipped in with a pair of goals with an assist. Calie Bessent also highlighted the Lady Wolves thanks to a goal and three assists.
Canyon blanks DumasÂ
Canyon opened district play in fine fashion by getting a 3-0 shutout of Dumas on the Canyon Turf on Monday night.
Gracie Van Winkle scored all three goals for the Lady Eagles to earn a hat-trick. Avery Thomas and Natalie Mendez dished out the assists to Van Winkle in the victory. Canyon is now 6-3 overall and 1-0 in District 4-4A. Dumas drops to 2-8-2, 0-1.
Randall-Borger play to tie
In one of the surprises on Monday night, the Borger Lady Bulldogs played Randall to a scoreless tie in the District 4-4A opener on Monday night at the Randall Turf.
Randall moves to 9-1-4 overall and 0-0-1 in district. Borger is now 5-5-4, 0-0-1.

Pampa blanks West PlainsÂ
The Pampa Harvesters are off to a perfect start to District 4-4A play after downing West Plains 3-0 on Monday at Harvesters Field.
The Harvesters also beat former head soccer coach, Hugo Aguillon, who led Pampa to the Region I-4A Tournament last season. Pampa’s prolific scorer Justin Martinez had a huge game as expected by netting all three goals in the victory. Samuel Munoz and Diego Jerez tacked on the assists.
Pampa improves to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in district. West Plains falls to 3-6-3, 0-1.
Randall-Borger play to tie
Like the girls matchup, the Randall Raiders and Borger Bulldogs played to a 1-1 tie in the District 4-4A opener at the Randall Turf on Monday night.
Randall moves to 3-4-6 and 0-0-1 in district. Borger is now 3-8-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the league. Landon Saiz scored the lone goal for Randall. Shance Woodin tallied Borger’s lone goal with Abdel Lozano getting the assist.
The Dumas at Canyon boys game is set for 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
