High School Volleyball District roundup – Randall rolls Pampa, Amarillo High stays perfect in 3-5A

District 4-4A

Randall remains perfect in district

The No. 9-ranked Randall Lady Raiders cooled off Pampa in a hurry thanks to a sweep on Saturday at home, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.

Randall is rolling at a perfect 9-0 in District 4-4A and 28-8 overall. The Lady Harvesters see a small setback falling to 5-4 in district and 21-12 overall.

Junior Jordyn Gove racked up another double-double with 14 kills, 11 digs, to go with a pair of aces. Brooke Henderson had eight kills with six digs, Tatum Brandt added 13 digs, and setter Sidney Soria notched a double-double with 42 assists and 11 digs.

Hereford, Canyon, West Plains win

Hereford, West Plains and Canyon all took home victories to round out the rest of this very competitive District 4-4A on Saturday.

The No. 12-ranked Lady Whitefaces swept Borger, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16. Camryn Blair had a game-high 17 kills and London Baker registered 29 assists with eight digs. Emilee Bridges had 11 kills for the Lady Bulldogs. Hereford is 29-7 overall and 8-1 in district. Borger falls to 15-16, 1-8.

West Plains stays all alone in third place taking down Dumas 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.

The Lady Wolves are 6-3 in district and 27-6 overall. Dumas falls to 21-17, 3-6. Jayli Franklin tallied 14 kills and 19 digs for an impressive double-double. McCall Sims also had 19 digs and Mya Bartlett led the way with three aces. Dumas was led by Brooklyn Cox’s eight kills and six blocks.

The Canyon Lady Eagles kept themselves in the playoff hunt by pummeling Perryton 25-17, 25-12, 25-10 on Saturday.

Sydnee Winfrey knocked down a game-high 10 kills and added three blocks. Landri Jay hit the floor for 10 digs. Canyon moves to 4-5 in district and 9-27 overall. Perryton drops to 11-19, 0-9.

District 3-5A

Amarillo High, Caprock get victories 

Amarillo High continues to play great volleyball in District 3-5A easing past Plainview on Saturday 25-15, 25-15, 25-8.

The Lady Sandies have won 24 straight district games over the last three years improving to 4-0 in league play and 27-9 overall. Plainview falls to 13-22, 1-3. Senior Jo Moffitt had herself quite the afternoon. Moffitt dished out 22 assists and showed her versatility with five kills and six aces. Sienna Cavalier is playing superb knocking down 11 kills with three digs and three blocks, and Kaylie Ledbetter registered 18 digs.

It wasn’t easy but the Caprock Lady Longhorns earned a hard fought five-set win over rival Palo Duro on Saturday, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-10.

The Lady Longhorns are now 2-2 in district and 19-14 overall. Palo Duro is still in search of its first league win at 0-4, and 14-17 overall. Lilliana Rangel showed incredible effort for Caprock with 19 assists, seven kills and an ace. Teammate Reese Didinger added 11 kills and two blocks, followed by Olivia Hurnes who had eight kills and four blocks. Palo Duro’s Precious Johnson was strong offensively with 20 kills, chipping in six digs and five blocks.

District 1-3A

Bushland and Dalhart cruise

As expected, the No. 1-ranked Bushland Lady Falcons keep a strong grip on first place on District 1-3A with a sweep of River Road 25-9, 25-18, 25-9, on Saturday.

Bushland totaled 39 kills in the match led by Kaela Neie’s 10. Madyson Eberly followed with seven kills and three aces. Logan Culpepper and Kenzie Sims combined for 35 assists. Bushland has won 77 straight district games dating back to 2011. The Lady Falcons are also now 4-0 in district and 31-4 overall. River Road slips to 12-16, 1-3.

Dalhart found the win column easing past Dimmitt on Saturday 25-13, 25-19, 25-11.

Dalhart moves to 13-16 overall and 2-2 in District 1-3A. Dimmitt struggles continue at 3-26, 0-4.

District 1-2A

West Texas High bounced back from its first district loss on Tuesday to beat Memphis 25-15, 21-25, 25-9, 25-18.

The Lady Comanches are 4-1 in District 1-2A and 13-14 overall. Memphis (8-15 overall) is still looking for that first district win at 0-4. WT High moved the ball around very well in the victory with Mckenna Jennings going for a game-high 43 assists, followed by teammate Addison Lindley tallying 34 assists. Lindley added four aces, as Kennedie Rushing and Sage Lay each had seven kills.

Sanford-Fritch took care of Vega for a 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 sweep on Saturday.

Avery Conner knocked down 20 kills for Fritch to go with two blocks. Kinley Roberts racked up 18 assists and four digs. The Lady Eagles are 3-2 in the league and 14-14 overall. Vega is 8-19, 1-4.

District 1-1A

Miami stays unbeaten in district play

The Miami Lady Warriors are playing their best volleyball at the right time. Miami kept its District 1-1A record unblemished getting a sweep of Kelton 25-8, 25-10, 25-10, on Saturday.

The Lady Warriors are 4-0 in district and 11-18 overall. The Lady Lions slip to 4-15-1, 1-3. Miami’s Bella-Lynn Calvert handed out 22 assists. Mercedes Hartwig beneifited from those assists powering down 17 kills. Bentley Brooks made an impressive 10 aces.

In the other match, Fort Elliott swept Darrouzett 25-15, 25-13, 25-8. Fort Elliott is 2-2 in district. Darrouzett drops to 3-11, 0-4.
