It was a tough weekend for the Amarillo Bulls, falling in a pair of home games to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at the Amarillo Cal Farley Coliseum Civic Center Complex on Friday and Saturday.

Fairbanks doubled up Amarillo 4-2 on Friday, followed by a come-from-behind 4-3 overtime victory Saturday.

Saturday’s loss was crushing for Amarillo. The Bulls led 3-2 with under 30 seconds to play when Ice Dog forward Luke Ciolli scored to tie the game, 3-3, with 13 seconds to play.

In overtime, Fairbanks completed the comeback with a game-winning goal by Adam Eisele with 37 seconds remaining.

The losses killed Amarillo’s recent momentum as they said goodbye to a five-game win streak.

The Ice Dogs, who sit second in the North American Hockey League’s Midwest Division, improved to 9-4-0-1 (19 points).

The Bulls fall to 8-4-1-1 (18 points)

The Bulls jump back into NAHL South Division play when they host the Corpus Christi IceRays on Friday and Saturday.
