Canyon Lady Eagles soar over Clint
Early round domination of their opponents continued for the Canyon Lady Eagles, as they took a big early lead and were never threatened in routing Clint 73-27 at Odessa Permian.
No. 4 Canyon (28-3) will play No. 13 Seminole (29-7) next week in a region quarterfinal game at a time, place and date to be determined.
It was business as usual for the Lady Eagles against another overmatched district opponent, as they opened the game by hitting three 3-pointers and taking a 20-2 lead. Clint (20-13) ended the quarter by hitting a 3-pointer to make it 20-5, but Canyon opened the second quarter by scoring 17 straight points to take control of the game and end any illusions Clint may have had about a competitive game.

Clint had no double-digit scorers, as Evelyn Guerra had nine points.
