District 3-4A Girls 

In the first meeting of a District 3-4A showdown between rivals West Plains and Randall, it was the Lady Raiders getting a penalty kick to come away with a thrilling 1-0 victory last Tuesday at Happy State Bank Stadium.

This game was as good as advertised highlighted by multiple defensive plays throughout.

After 39 plus minutes of scoreless soccer, Randall caught a break being awarded a penalty kick with 24 seconds remaining in the first half. Ryan McClain capitalized on the moment knocking the kick through giving the Lady Raiders a 1-0 lead closing out the first half.

The defensive struggle continued throughout the second half, as neither team was able to score giving Randall the 1-0 win.

Following the clutch victory against West Plains, Randall had a much easier time taking down Pampa on Friday with an 8-1 win. Kyndal McClain scored two goals against the Lady Harvesters and added two assists. Ryann Davis dished out three assists while tacking on a goal.

Randall (10-5 overall) has taken the outright lead in District 3-4A staying perfect so far at 6-0.

West Plains was able to bounce back from its loss to Randall getting an 8-0 shutout against Dumas on Friday. Mya Bartlett continued her strong season for the Lady Wolves scoring an eye-opening five goals against the Demonettes.

Teammate Triniti Fernandez added two goals, and Ryan Rattray posted a goal with an assist.

West Plains is now 8-3-2 overall and 5-1 in district play.

Girls district quick hits

In other District 3-4A play, Borger had an outstandings week beating Hereford 8-0 then Canyon 6-1.

The Lady Bulldogs put together a dominating performance at home against Canyon on Friday night led by Brooklyn Cano’s hattrick with an assist. Teammate Riley Lumpkin pitched in with two goals and two assists and Mikayla Diaz added a score. Borger improves to 4-2 in league play and 8-3 overall.

Before the loss to Borger, Canyon defeated Dumas 3-0. Jaylee Blakely and Sophia Lott each had an assist. Canyon is now 4-8-1 overall and 4-2 in District 3-4A.

Perryton was able to knock off Pampa 4-0 before getting a 1-1 tie with Hereford on the road Friday night. The Rangerettes move to 2-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in district. Hereford’s struggles continue falling to 0-6-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the league.

In District 3-5A, Amarillo High continues to cruise blanking Lubbock-Cooper on Friday night 2-0. The Lady Sandies defense carried the win. Offensively, Sophia Hernandez and Madeline Rankin each scored. Sofia Pepper and Chloe Godinez added the assists. AHS (10-1-1) stays atop the District 3-5A standings at 7-0-1.

Tascosa had an excellent week nabbing a 4-0 victory against Palo Duro and earned a 1-0 shutout against Lubbock Coronado. The Lady Rebels (5-4-2) find themselves at 5-2-1 in district. In the win over the Lady Dons, Rylee Anderson led the way scoring a pair of goals. Tessa Fowler and Karina Garcia also chipped in scores. Anderson also scored the deciding goal against Coronado.

Palo Duro closed out its first half of district with a 3-0 loss to Lubbock Monterey. The Lady Dons drop to 2-4-2 in district and 5-6-3 overall.

Caprock pummeled Plainview 7-0 on Tuesday night. The Lady Longhorns move to 2-5-5 overall and 1-3-4 in District 3-5A.

District 3-5A Boys

The Palo Duro Dons and Tascosa Rebels faced off Tuesday night at Dick Bivins Stadium with the Dons coming away with a very exciting 1-0 win.

This clash was decided late in the second half, on a crucial foul inside the box with only 5:26 remaining. Tharcisse Butoyi drove home a penalty kick off that foul for the only score lifting the Dons to the big win.

Palo Duro followed with a 1-1 tie against Lubbock Monterey on Friday. Butoyi scored the lone goal for his second of the week. The Dons are currently sitting 4-2-1 in District 3-5A and 7-4-1 overall.

Tascosa rebounded on the road Friday night in a 6-1 win over Coronado. The Rebels (8-3-2 overall) finish out the first half of district play with a 3-3-1 mark.

Boys district quick hits

Caprock won a fifth consecutive district match taking down Plainview 3-1 on Tuesday. The Longhorns are rolling at 6-1 in district and 10-2 overall. Leo De Leon highlighted the win scoring two goals as Aldo Carrasco continued his stellar season with another goal of his own.

Amarillo High fell on the road to Lubbock-Cooper 2-1 on Friday. The Sandies (4-5-1 overall) are 2-4 in league action.

In District 3-4A, West Plains had a huge week beating rival Randall 4-3 then taking down Dumas in a District 3-4A showdown 3-1. The Wolves (9-3-1 overall) improve to 4-1-1 in district play. Jaiden Cervantes netted two goals against Randall. West Plains began its week with a 4-3 win over rival Randall. Against Dumas, Francisco Silvestre and Jayson Lamons each tallied goals.

Dumas did get a win earlier last week defeating Canyon 4-1. Saul Calderon registered a score with an assist. Dumas is now 8-2 overall and 5-1 in District 3-4A.

Perryton earned a pair of shutouts blanking Pampa 3-0 and Hereford 8-0. The Rangers (7-6) are in the league hunt at 5-1.

Pampa did bounce back beating Randall 4-1. The Harvesters improve to 6-5-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the league.

Borger collected two wins besting Hereford 8-0 and getting a 2-1 victory against Canyon. Abdel Lozano scored two goals with two assists against Hereford. Teammate Ulises Castaneda also added two scores. The Bulldogs move to 4-2 in district and 7-7 overall.
