Josue Sigala, Muleshoe, RB-DB, Fr.

Sigala did not play like a young man a year removed from junior high football. The freshman absolutely made a name for himself during Muleshoe’s lopsided 48-28 win over Friona on Friday thanks to his impressive speed. Sigala set the tone on the opening kickoff going 90-yards for a touchdown. Sigala then led the Mules’ strong rushing attack rushing for a career high 215 yards on only 12 carries, averaging 17.9 yards per carry, totaling four touchdowns. Sigala also racked up seven tackles on defense.

Broxton Robinson, Panhandle, QB, Soph.

Robinson is putting his name in for an early season MVP candidate after a third straight eye-opening performance. The dual-threat QB has the Panthers at 3-0 after getting a 51-13 victory at Vega on Friday night. Robinson totaled 346 yards of offense with six total touchdowns rushing for 159 yards with four scores while passing for 187 yards with two more TDs.

 Dallas Juarez, Caprock, QB, Sr.

Caprock earned its first win by beating Pampa 21-7 while getting head coach Rowdy Freeman his first career victory. Juarez did a superb job filling in for Lleyton Brown at quarterback as the senior ran the ball 10 times for 122 yards with a touchdown and threw for another TD.

Jordi Hernandez, West Plains, RB, Sr.

The West Plains offense put on a show piling up 625 yards of offense during a 48-21 win over rival Canyon in the “Boss Bowl”. The Wolves’ run game was stellar finishing the game with 330 yards led by the versatile Hernandez. The senior toted the rock 19 times for 171 yards with a pair of scores and snagged three catches for 57 yards with another touchdown.

Julio Valdez, Stratford, WR-LB, Jr.

Valdez was all over the field making a major impact on both sides of the ball during Stratford’s 58-26 victory over Gruver that helped keep the Elks undefeated on the year. On the offensive side, Valdez caught two passes for 153 yards for two touchdowns and scored two rushing TDs. On the defensive side, Valdez led Stratford with a team-high 14 tackles.

Wyatt Davis, Canadian, LB, Jr.

Davis made life miserable for the Elk City, Okla., offense on Friday night. The junior standout linebacker couldn’t be blocked tallying a game-high 18 tackles, four of those solo, adding a sack and a forced fumble. The No. 1-ranked Wildcats moved to 3-0 on the year beating Elk City, 45-19.

Kade Gavina, Bushland, WR, Sr.

The Bushland senior was a key weapon for quarterback Dawson Jaco in the Falcons 42-13 win at Childress. Gavina became a complete mismatch for the Bobcat secondary snagging three catches for 173 yards, averaging 57 yards a catch, with two touchdowns.

Tell Bryant, Hereford, WR, Jr.

Hereford went from one win in 2022 to being 3-0 in 2023 thanks to a thrilling 28-27 win over Shallowater on Friday night. The Whitefaces are getting production from multiple players including Bryant who did his part against the Mustangs. Bryant was clutch for quarterback Kalub Ramirez hauling in seven catches for 121 yards including a 30-yard touchdown pass.

Ethaniel Trevino, Tulia, RB, Jr.

Trevino’s speed was a mismatch for the Sanford-Fritch as the junior put on quite the show helping the Hornets to their first win of the year, 30-27. Trevino finished the game with an incredible 245 yards rushing on 24 carries with a touchdown.

Eduardo Hernandez, Dumas, Sr.

The Dumas Demons found the win column for the first time in 2023 thanks to a 26-7 home win over Perryton and Hernandez was a big reason why. Dumas chewed up 240 yards on the ground as Hernandez led that charge rushing for 194 yards on 27 carries with three touchdowns including a 68-yard score.
